About Javascript
Javascript is a programming language that runs inside your web browser.
The EPA Workshop Proceedings CD-ROM uses Javascript to provide interactive buttons and a system for searching through the EPA Workshop presentations.
While it is not necessary to have Javascript activated to view the information on this CD-ROM, it is encouraged to activate it in order to maximize the viewer's experience.
The following line tests your web browser to determine if Javascript has been activated:

If you only see two brackets with nothing between them ([ ]), then Javascript is not activated for your browser.
Activating Javascript
Please locate your web browser version and operating system below to determine the proper instructions for activating Javascript.
Netscape 3 for Windows
Under the Options menu - choose Network Preferences, pick Languages, and select Enable Java.
Netscape 3 for Macintosh
Under the Options menu - choose Network Preferences, pick Languages, and select Enable Java.
Explorer 3 for Windows
Under the View menu - choose Options, pick Advanced, and select Enable Java JIT Compiler.
Explorer 3 for Macintosh
Under the Edit menu - choose Preferences, pick Web Content, and under the Enhancements section, select Java.
Netscape 4 for Windows
Under the Edit menu - choose Preferences, pick Advanced (be sure to pick the main entry, not Cache, Proxies, or Disk Space), and select Enable Java and Enable Javascript check boxes.
Netscape 4 for Macintosh
Under the Edit menu - choose Preferences, pick Advanced (be sure to pick the main entry, not Cache, Proxies, or Disk Space), and select Enable Java and Enable Javascript check boxes.
Explorer 4 for Windows
Under the View menu - choose Options, pick Advanced, scroll down a ways, and select Java JIT Compiler enabled.
Explorer 5 for Windows
Under the Tools menu - choose Internet Options, pick the Security tab, click Custom Level, scroll down a ways, and find Scripting. Under that locate Active Scripting and select Enable.

Under the View menu - choose Options, pick Advanced, scroll down a ways, and select Java JIT Compiler enabled.
